In a 2015 article, Norton was featured in the 10 Best Cities for Young Families in Ohio, ranking in 7th place (nerdwallet.com). In 2017, the city completed a $32 million project, opening its state-of-the-art Norton High School. The campus includes a 141,000 square foot school building and a $1.5 million fieldhouse, containing athletic fields and a new multi-sport stadium.


Access to Major Cities & Highways

Norton has direct access to I-76 and 224, and is a short distance from Route 21 and I-77. It is centrally located between Akron (10 miles), Canton (28 miles), and Cleveland (37 miles).


Parks & Recreation

In the city center, Columbia Woods Park features pavilions, tennis and basketball courts, baseball fields, and a playground. Nearby, Silver Creek Metro Park is a beautiful 1,008-acre park with trails for hiking and horseback riding. A 50-acre spring-fed lake features a swimming area, fishing and picnic areas, and boat rentals. Within 15 miles is the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, one of the most visited national parks in the country. There are many areas to explore along the Ohio Erie Canal Towpath and Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
